Guesthouse

Staying at one of our Wooleen Guesthouses is perfect for those guests who’d like to be close enough to the central hub of station life, but not right on the doorstep. A short stroll from the main homestead (150 metres to be precise) it’s just close enough should you require any assistance during your station stay, and far away enough to immerse yourself into the peace and quiet of the outback. Surrounded by natural bushland and the privacy of tranquil native gardens, you’ll be able to do as much – or as little – as you like on holiday here at Wooleen.

Simply arrive, unpack and enjoy the simple pleasures of station life. In keeping with the ethos of Wooleen Station, each rammed earth self-contained guesthouse is sustainably designed and full of character and history, yet with the fresh fittings of newer, purpose-built accommodation. Built in 2004, you’ll be assured of all of the mod-cons nestled amongst natural and recycled materials, including doors and windows rescued from nearby old pastoral homesteads.

Dive under a plush feather and down duvet after a day exploring the station; big European cushions are primed for a good night’s sleep. You’ll not need to worry about a thing other than your own dining provisions, with each guesthouse fully equipped for self-catering including all linen and towels. Perfect for families or couples travelling together; each guesthouse has two bedrooms, a bathroom, separate toilet, full kitchen, dining and living areas and outdoor alfresco area. Of course, there’s also an open fireplace, as it wouldn’t be a trip to the outback without some marshmallow toasting action!
