To our guests:

As the COVID-19 story continues to unfold we are closely monitoring the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases and following guidelines from these agencies and the local health departments.

We like to think Wooleen Station is a safe and reasonably isolated destination. We are located 200km from a town and our accommodation facilities are spread over our 153,000 hectare pastoral lease. No large events, in excess of 25 people, are planned at Wooleen during 2020.

However, The wellbeing of our visitors and staff at Wooleen Station is of paramount importance.

Our Commitment to Cleanliness:
Prior to COVID 19, Wooleen took standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously. We are now taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. On a daily basis, our rooms and facilities are cleaned to ensure that they meet the latest guidance on hygiene and cleaning. Our stations health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and include everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures. Our homestead rooms have shared bathroom facilities which are cleaned daily. As of the 1st of April we'll be increasing this twice daily. Specific steps Wooleen Station is taking include:

Staff Health, Safety and Knowledge: Wooleen Team members – and their own health, safety and knowledge – are essential to an effective cleaning program. Here are some ways we’re working together:

  • Hand Hygiene: Proper and frequent handwashing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses. In our daily meetings, our teams are reminded that cleanliness starts with this simple act. It’s important for their health and that of our guests.
  • Ongoing Training: In addition to training on housekeeping and hygiene protocols, station staff are also completing enhanced COVID-19 awareness training.
  • Real Time Information: As a team, working in a remote location, we work closely together every day. Information is passed on immediately and policies and procedures are updated instantly to reflect changing circumstances.

Cleaning Products and Protocols: Our station uses cleaning products and protocols which are effective against viruses, including:

  • Guest Rooms: Our rooms use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items.
  • Public Spaces: We'll be increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on the front desk, door handles, public bathrooms and cutlery, crockery and glassware.
  • Back of House: In the spaces where team members work “behind the scenes,” Wooleen is increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like entrances, pantry, laundry rooms and offices.
