River Campground

Set up your tent, camper trailer or caravan at the Murchison River, located 16kms North from the Wooleen homestead.  Or better yet roll out your swag and watch the milky way as you fall asleep.
Your well behaved dog is welcome at the river, but please remember to keep pooch securely in the vehicle when visiting the homestead.
Prior to setting out from the homestead, sign your ‘commitment to country’ document and join Wooleen Station in their goal of land rehabilitation and sustainable grazing.
Each site has its own fire-pit, Wooleen does not supply firewood but can direct guests to appropriate collection points. Otherwise BYO wood is recommended. Please be aware of a total fire ban in the Shire of Murchison from the 1st of October to the 1st of April each year.
River sites are located at least 50 meters apart.
Please note Wooleen only has 4 river sites and will only allow 1 vehicle per site to preserve the fragile and natural environment located at the Murchison River. Booking in advance is recommended.

2 composting toilets are available at the river. It is essential that visitors are prepared to be self-sufficient during their stay, no electricity is supplied at your campsite. Drinking water and showers are available at the Wooleen Homestead.

$30 per vehicle per night.

Rocky Outcrop Campground

Set up your tent, camper trailer or caravan at the Rocy Outcrop Campground, a cluster of Breakaway rocks, located 7kms west from the Wooleen homestead.  Or better yet roll out your swag and watch the milky way as you fall asleep.
Your well behaved dog is welcome at the Rocky Outcrop, but please remember to keep pooch securely in the vehicle when visiting the homestead and surrounds.
Prior to setting out from the homestead, sign your ‘commitment to country’ document and join Wooleen Station in their goal of land rehabilitation and sustainable grazing.
The Rocky Outcrop site has one fire pit to share. Wooleen does not supply firewood but can direct guests to appropriate collection points. Otherwise BYO wood is recommended. Please be aware of a total fire ban in the Shire of Murchison from the 1st of October to the 1st of April each year.
The Rocky Outcrop is an exclusive site which we invite you to enjoy or share with a group of friends.

$30 for the first two people and $10 per adult and $5 per child per night for groups.

 

Gidgee Tree Campground

Set up your tent, camper trailer or caravan under a Gidgee Tree, growing up to 12m tall, located 6kms west from the Wooleen homestead.  Or better yet roll out your swag and watch the milky way as you fall asleep.
Your well behaved dog is welcome at the Gidgee Trees, but please remember to keep pooch securely in the vehicle when visiting the homestead and surrounds.
Prior to setting out from the homestead, sign your ‘commitment to country’ document and join Wooleen Station in their goal of land rehabilitation and sustainable grazing.
Two sites are located at The Gidgee Trees, roughly 70m apart with one fire pit per site. Wooleen does not supply firewood but can direct guests to appropriate collection points. Otherwise BYO wood is recommended. Please be aware of a total fire ban in the Shire of Murchison from the 1st of October to the 1st of April each year.

The Gidgee Tree campsites does not come with a composting toilet and providing your own is compulsory when booking these sites. Digging a hole and burying your waste is not acceptable. It is essential that visitors are prepared to be self-sufficient during their stay, no electricity is supplied at your campsite. Drinking water and showers are available for use at the Wooleen Homestead. A dump point can be found at the Murchison Settlement for disposal of your waste.

Please note Wooleen only has 2 Gidgee Tree campsites. Booking in advance is recommended. Up to 2 vehicles welcome per site.
